At HCF, we believe that the highest common factor is CARE—care for people,
communities, learning, and human connection. Guided by this belief, we are pleased to
present Pustak Parivar, a community-driven initiative that seeks to create free and
accessible libraries while fostering meaningful intergenerational engagement.

The Vision

Pustak Parivar is envisioned as a growing network of free libraries that become safe,
welcoming spaces for reading, storytelling, mentorship, dialogue, and community
learning.

The initiative aims to bring together children, youth, families, and senior citizens through
the shared power of books and conversation. Beyond access to reading material, the
libraries will serve as vibrant community spaces where people derive confidence,
companionship, wisdom, and emotional strength from one another.

What We Are Building
• Collection drives for gently used books across all age groups and genres.
• Free community libraries accessible to children, youth, women, and senior citizens.
• Senior citizens managing and nurturing the library spaces as mentors and
facilitators.
• Interactive storytelling circles, reading sessions, and knowledge-sharing workshops.

Elderly as Knowledge Keepers
Senior citizens play a central role in managing the libraries, conducting story sessions,

Storytelling & Communication Skills
Story sessions and interactive discussions help children and youth improve
